Erik ten Hag has been sacked as Manchester United head coach, a day after Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham United.
Manchester United’s official website has announced the sacking of Ten Hag as first-team coach. With assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy taking over as caretaker manager.

Ten Hag escaped sacking last summer after leading Manchester United to an eighth-place Premier League finish. But has since secured an FA Cup triumph and retained his position as head coach.
However, in the 2024-25 season, Manchester United has only 11 points from the first 9 games, ranked 14th in the Premier League table. The latest game, which was a 1-2 away loss to West Ham, was their 4th loss in the league this season. Meanwhile, their performance in the Europa League was a draw in all three of their first games. Ranked 21st out of 36 teams in the league phase.
