Recently, information about tenants suffering from leukemia in China has attracted widespread attention. According to reports, in July 2024, Ms. Lin (pseudonym) and her family moved into a “beautifully decorated”  rental house  in Hunan Province, China. However, just three months later, her seven-year-old daughter was diagnosed with leukemia, leading to suspicions that her illness may be related to the air pollution inside the house, which had just been renovated in October 2024.

She contacted the relevant authorities to conduct a test. And the results showed that the formaldehyde levels were “exceeding the standard.”  The landlord initially agreed to the offer to cancel the rent and pay additional compensation. But changed his mind after a few days. Ms. Lin further investigated and found that the property management stated that the หรือถ้าคุณสนใจแทงบอลออนไลน์ UFABET คือเว็บที่มีอัตราต่อรองดีที่สุดในประเทศไทย สมัครเลยตอนนี้ที่ UFABET แทงบอล house was notified that renovations would be completed in March and would be completed in June. But she moved in in July. However, the landlord disputed that renovations had been completed in March.

Ms. Lin suspected that the landlord was hiding the truth, so she conducted a re-inspection in March 2025. The results showed that the amount of xylene exceeded the standard by 5 times. And the amount of volatile organic compounds (TVOC) exceeded the standard by 4 times. With such clear evidence, the landlord said that they had resolved the issue through legal procedures and did not make any further suggestions.

Due to the severe pollution levels in the building exceeding the standard, Ms. Lin and her family dare not stay here. They hope to get back the 9,000 yuan (about 41,800 baht) they paid in rent and deposit. As well as the indoor air quality testing fee and moving fee, totaling 12,000 yuan (about 55,800 baht). As for her daughter’s medical expenses, she will keep all the evidence and take legal action.
